For Display Only

Exhibition Design | Type Design

For Display Only is my BFA Thesis work, while finishing my degree at Northern Kentucky University. Having studied type design through different era’s, I became enamored with the idea that typographic innovation (in a formal sense) in the near future, is reliant on us exploring forms which have been in the past viewed as display type. Display type being experimental in its nature, unveils  formal discoveries might not be apparent naturally when producing text type.

Included in the show was a magnet wall, where visitors were invited to draw their own letters, the wierder the better.

It was sometimes helpful to imagine an application for each of typeface produced. The application would direct the form & lead you to interesting solutions which may’ve been ignored otherwise.

Along the way, I roughed up the space in fusion360 to try to get my sizing correct on every asset.
